Fish Reports February 2002

1st-2nd kingfish are on the reef and in the box! We did four trips today and yesterday and they went pretty well on the reef live bait fishing was a litle slow with the sails being a little uncooperative. A couple of nice dolphin came in on the kite on saturday and a few jacks are on the wreaks.

4th Chris and Carrie Groce were out with us today along with Erwin Cole. What a great day of fishing we had cathing two sailfish for the guys and an absolutly huge kingfish for carrie that tipped the scales at forty six pounds. Great day, time for a clod one!.

5th The word on the hooked up is SAILFISH!! We got six on our morning trip including one we kept for a trophy that was 92 inches. what a slob. In the afternoon we got another one making seven for the day seet fishing. get it while it lasts. Time for a cold one!

6th We had two trips today a saw a few sails and a nice golden amber jack on the wreak.

7th-8th Sailfishing slowed down today and yesterday but we caught some nice kings and grouper on the wreaks.

9th On our trips today we caught a giant barracuda and some kings in the morning and had a triple header of sailfish in the afternoon. We put one nice one in the boat for a trophy, its what we do and we could do it for you.

10th Sailfish are still biting a little bit. We released one in the morning and had a cruise trip in the after noon to spread ashes out at sea. All in all fishing is pretty good, come on down.

11-14th wreak fishing has been good and a funny story happened on aour trip tuesday. A couple weeks ago I lost a nice fish on one of the wreaks when it got me inside the wreak and cut my hook off. Well today I got that hook back out of the mouth of a nice black grouper.

15-17th Wreak fishing is still good friday we got some nice golden amberjacks in 200 feet of water and some good size barracudas in the inlet mouth. Saturday the grouper werew biting, mostly reds and sunday my good buddy Jimbo came out and caught a nice hammerhead shark in the afternoon in the morning ericka got a big gag grouper. good fishing!

18th Fishing is slow but we went out on a fun trip with my parents Judy and Bob. Mom caught a big Golden Amberjack and we got some snappers on the wreaks, nd of course we had fun.

19-24th Lots of trips with OK fishing over these days. A few sails are around and some bottom fish including black and gag grouper, yellow eye snappers and almaco jacks. Saturday we were blown out for three trips due to the high winds.

25th We had an all day trip today with some excellent fishing. We caught two nice cobias, a big dolphin a bunch of grouper and snapper, some big golden amberjacks and faught a sailfish-all in the same spot! Pretty cool fishing.

2th today Bobby Slade and Tim Bridges blew in to town from Champaign, IL. Like a rum front on a cold windy day we began to tear up ft lauderdale. Fishing was very good to us and we caught a huge cobia and some big dolphin. Shark fishing up north we got a nice one for the bar-Nurse one for me Bobby! We also caught some big gollden amberjacks. Fun fishing.

27th Jake came out with us today, another regular customer on the hooked up. Fishing was good for Erika Rodgers who caught a beautiful gag grouper. We also got a nice 25lb king mackerel on the reef in 110ft. In the afternoon we caught some big fish on the wreacks off lauderdale by the sea.

28th in the morning we caught some almaco jacks and some yellow jacks and some king mackerel trolling on the reef. In the afternoon we had poor fishing but managed to get some bonitas. My brother showed up in town to help further the latest rum front- Robert whats up!!!!
