Fish Reports March

st Tim and Bobby are back and we went out with my brother Robert today to see what was up. It was rough! We ajourned to tug-boat annies-a waterfront bar down south for a couple of coldones to get away from the seas. On the way home we decided to run out into the ocean and put the kite up for 15 minutes since we knew the sails were biting-This is when a funny thing happned. A sailfish ate our kite bait and taco fed him the bait. patience is key here, you want to let those fish eat. When we finally set the hook we realized we missed the fish-what a bummer! Thats when we heard the loud CRACK! We had had two sails up and never knew it. With the stereo turned up so loud and a beer in everyones hand we never saw the spinning rod getting stripped by a sailfish until it was too late.....no more line-the crack we heard was the knot at the end of the spool breaking. Oh well, it was a fun trip after all, not really a charter so everyone is intitled to one mistake. Whew no more cold ones today!

nd-6th Having my brother in town to fish with us is pretty cool-I just wish the fishing was better. On teusday we had a shot at catching seven sails, but fate kept the numbers down. we got a couple and made a nice trophy out of one that was 75 inches. Nice fish!

th-8th We caught a nice blacktip shark that ate a live goggle eye in 125 feet of water wednesday. Thursday we got a handful of dolphin and some serious fish on the shipwreacks. One golden amberjack must have been sixty pounds. Sail;fish are biting on the reef pretty good.

th Today was some serious fun!! While shark fishing we hooked sometthing BIG. after an hour we brought up a giant stingray. A very cool fish to check out! But the really cool part was the sight of all the dark shapes following it up from the depths. It was Cobia and lots of them. We had them behind the boat for another hour. We caught a ton of them to sixty pounds by keeping the ray hhoked up behind the boat. I even got the chance to free gaff two that had not even been hooked. It was a very cool day and worthy of a cold one!!!

th-11th Kingfish Bonita Dolphin. Trolling is good.

-17th Trolling remains good. Taco has had some time off and i got to run the boat a lot this week. A nice break from the cockpit. I went out with guest appearances from Billdo, Stu, and Combat. Fishing was good to the south off Dania and Hollywood for the kings and just about everything else from dolphin, sails and Wreck fish.

th Slow fishing offshore but we hooked a huge tarpon in the intracoastal with Jeff Fowley. This fish ate a live bonita we trolled along the cut.

th Shark fishing has turned on with guest appearances by the thresher sharks. Long tailed beasts of the deep that migrate through thisa time of year. The Golden Hammerheads will be solid next and you may see a few makos this time of year. Today we fished for sails both of our trips. We were succesful for each so it was a great day. In the morning we faught a double header and in the after noon we caught a sailfish weth no bill. This cool looking fish obviously nrver had one as it looked natural and was not broken off. I thought it would have made a great trophy but my customers didnt so we let it go. Time for a cold one!

th Screaming north current on the reef today. We saw three sails this morning with Jeff Fowley out again. One waqs a huge 91 incher we took home with us. Congrats Jeff. In the afternoon we caught kings and bonitas inclding a 20lb smoker king with live bait. People fishing for sharks are getting those shots at threshers i heard of 3 today.

st Caught a golden hammerhead this morning. In the afternoon I was kite fish with My charter and stu and hooked a blue one. Yes thats a blue marlin. It was over an hour later that we pulled the hook on our 25 pound test gear. A rare fish in these waters, shame it got away.

nd Fishing with my buddy mangus as mate we got skunked. BUT, mango free gaffed a huge octopus as it swam by. Ive never seen a fish so lit up. It was neon purple and pink and blue. pretty coooool. So weve got that goin for us.

rd Trying to catch a sailfish kingfish tortured us this morning. We were biten off five tomes at least. We did get some dolphin. In the after noon we went with the bite that was there and murdered the kinfish. We got our limit. We also caught some nice grouper and snapper on the wrecks.

th We got a bunch of kings a bonita and a dolphin.

th We did three four hour trips today. IM tired. We caught a beautiful dusky shark. Some really cool golden amberjacks and some kings goodnihgt.

th Don Lewis came back to see us with his familly this week. Today we got some beautiful Crevalle Jacks and some cudas for his boys Thomas and Ty. We also jumped off a nice tarpon in the hot water canal.

th Same crew from yesterday came out today this afternoon and caught a few more good ones in the same spot. The morning trip was slow.

th Wreck fishing is producing grouper snapper and golden amberjacks.

th Jimbo Hite and Crew came out today and we had some fun. We caught some dolphin.

-31st Fishing is good! On Easter one of our Best Customers came out and caught a huge thresher shark. Nice work Bill!
